This model takes eight IP inputs at up to 8MP, compresses with H.265S, and plays back all eight channels at once so movement can be followed between cameras without switching views. Is eight channels enough for a typical kanal house?

Usually, yes. Two at the main gate, two along the boundary, one or two covering the drive and the rest on entry doors covers most properties of that size. Where houses need more, it is normally a large garden or a second gate, and that is the point at which the sixteen-channel model makes sense.

How long will recordings be kept on one drive?

That is set by drive capacity, camera bitrate and whether you record continuously or on motion. H.265S compression helps, but there is only one bay, so the disk you choose determines the answer. Share your camera list on WhatsApp and we will estimate retention properly rather than guessing.

Does it connect cameras directly or through a switch?

The feature list for this model does not itemise built-in PoE ports, so cameras normally come in through a separate PoE switch on the same network. That arrangement also makes it easier to add a camera later without opening the recorder. If direct connection matters to you, the eight-port PoE variant is the one to look at.

Can I access it from my phone?

Yes, mobile surveillance on iOS and Android is supported, and NAT with QR code scanning speeds up the initial pairing. Remote picture quality depends on the internet connection at the site more than on the recorder. We set up and test remote access as part of the handover.
