Why We Survey Before We Quote
In our experience, disappointing CCTV systems are usually not the result of bad cameras. They are the result of a number being agreed before anybody looked at the building. Eight cameras is a sentence, not a design.
On site we can see the things that decide the quotation: how far the gate is from where the recorder will live, whether the walls are already plastered so cabling has to run in external casing, where a junction box can be mounted out of the rain, how dark the lane actually gets at night, and whether the distribution board has a backed-up circuit we can use.
The survey costs you nothing and commits you to nothing. If we conclude that four cameras and a small recorder are enough, that is what the quotation will say.
What the Survey Covers
- Coverage walk — We walk the boundary and the interior with you and agree what each camera is for: identifying a face at the gate, watching a till, or simply seeing that something happened in the yard. Those are different cameras at different heights.
- Cable routes and distances — We measure the runs. On kanal and larger plots the distance from the front gate to the recorder can approach the 100 m limit for a single Ethernet run, which means a switch near the gate rather than a longer cable.
- Night conditions — Many Lahore lanes are poorly lit. That is what decides between infrared, dual-light and full-colour models, and whether a plate can realistically be read at your gate at night.
- Power and backup — We check whether the recorder, PoE switch and router can sit on an inverter or UPS circuit, and which circuits at your distribution board are already protected.
- Internet and remote viewing — We check the connection and how many people need access, so app setup is planned rather than improvised on handover day.
- Storage and retention — You tell us how many days of footage you want to keep. We size the hard disk for that instead of shipping whatever disk is in the box.
- Privacy and neighbours — We identify views that would overlook a neighbour’s courtyard or a family area, and plan masking before anything is mounted.
- Mounting and weather — Wall material, mounting height, junction box position, gland quality and cable entry, because monsoon water gets in at the joints rather than through the camera body.
How Booking Works

We group visits by area, so tell us your locality and any times that suit.
3. The visit
A short walkthrough of the property with you or your representative. For a house it is usually well under an hour; larger commercial and industrial sites take longer and may need a second visit for the electrical side.
4. Written quotation
You get an itemised document: models, quantities, cable, recorder, storage, accessories and labour, with the agreed camera positions listed so there is no confusion later.
5. Scheduling the work
Once you approve, we book the installation dates and confirm what needs to be ready on site, such as power points, ladder access or clearance to drill.
What to Have Ready
None of these are compulsory, but each one makes the visit shorter and the quotation sharper.
- Someone who can make decisions — Camera positions get agreed on the day. If the person who decides is not there, the survey usually needs a second round.
- A plan or map, if one exists — For offices, plazas, schools and factories a floor plan saves a great deal of walking and helps us count cable properly.
- Access to the roof and the boundary — Most exterior routes are decided on the roof line. If a key is needed, have it ready.
- Location of the distribution board — We need to see the DB and know which circuits are on the inverter or UPS side, if you have one.
- Your internet details — Which service, where the router sits, and whether it is on backup power. If the router is not backed up, recording survives an outage but the phone view does not.
- Landlord or society permission, where relevant — Work inside your own boundary wall is normally straightforward. Anything on a shared pole, common corridor, lift lobby, society green belt or gate is the building or society management’s scope and needs their written go-ahead first.
Remote Survey by WhatsApp
If you are outside Lahore, or you simply want a number before committing to a visit, we can do a great deal remotely. Send a slow walkthrough video of the outside of the property, a second one of the interior areas you want covered, and a photo of the distribution board and the router position.
From that we can give a realistic camera count, a recorder size and a price range, plus an honest note on what we cannot judge from video. Depth, distance and night lighting are the three things a phone video flatters, so the on-site figure occasionally differs.
For hardware-only orders anywhere in Pakistan, a remote survey is often all that is needed. For a full installation in Lahore we will still want to walk the site before the final quotation.
What to Include in the Form
The form on this page asks for the following. The more of it you complete, the better the first reply will be.

Locality, block or phase, and the address for the visit. Society entry instructions help if there is a gate.
Property type and size
House, shop, office, plaza floor, school, warehouse or plot, with marla, kanal or square feet.
What you want covered
Either a camera count or a list of points: gate, main door, counter, corridor, boundary, back exit, store.
Existing system
Any cameras, cable or recorder already in place, and whether it is currently working.

Days and times that suit, especially for shops and offices where drilling during business hours is not welcome.

How long does a survey take?
A house is usually well under an hour. An office floor or a shop is similar. Schools, plazas, factories and warehouses take longer, and sites needing electrical or network work sometimes need a second visit before a firm quotation.
Can you survey a house that is still under construction?
That is the best time to do it. If conduit is laid during grey structure, before plaster, cabling is cleaner and cheaper than any retrofit. We can also fit a solar 4G camera to watch the plot while construction is stop-start, since there is often no power connection yet.
Do I have to decide everything on the day?
No. The survey produces a proposal and you take as long as you need. If you want to phase the work, say so during the visit and we will structure the design so phase two does not mean redoing phase one.
I rent my shop. Can you still survey it?
Yes. Cameras inside your own unit are normally your decision, but anything in a shared corridor, lift lobby, staircase or basement parking belongs to the building management. It is also worth agreeing in writing with your landlord who owns the recorder and the footage when the lease ends.
Will you quote for cameras I already own?
Yes. Bring the model codes to the survey and we will check whether they will work with the recorder and switch being proposed, then quote installation separately from hardware.
Can you survey more than one branch at a time?
Yes. For multi-branch businesses we survey each site and return a single consolidated proposal, with a common standard for recorders and remote access so the branches behave the same way.
