The 4.0–180 mm lens starts reasonably wide before reaching in, and face detection with capture and comparison is supported alongside automatic tracking of people and vehicles. Resolution is Full HD at 1920 × 1080, so the reach comes from optics rather than megapixels. Long-range PTZ work depends on a rigid mount and a clean network path, and we can advise on both over WhatsApp.

No, and it is worth being clear about this. The figure describes how far the infrared illumination reaches, not the distance at which a face can be recognised. Identification distance depends on the zoom setting, the mounting height, air clarity and haze, and how steady the mount is.

How does the face capture and comparison feature work?

The camera can detect a face in the scene, capture it and compare it against stored images. Setting it up involves configuring the detection area and the reference database, and the recorder or software platform has to support the workflow. We confirm that pairing before quoting.

How does it compare with the 50× model in the same range?

The 50× version uses a 3.8–190 mm lens, so it goes both slightly wider and slightly longer. Both share 1920 × 1080 resolution and 500 metres of infrared. On most sites the choice comes down to how much of the wide overview you want to keep.

What kind of mount does it need?

A rigid one. At 45× zoom, small vibrations from wind or a flexing pole are magnified enough to make the long shot unusable. We would rather specify a heavier mast than sell you reach the installation cannot hold steady.
