About the 2 Megapixel Dual-Light FHD Bullet Camera (PLC 322P AU DL3 PM)

The PLC 322P AU DL3 PM is the bullet version of the dual-light analog range: Full HD over coax, infrared and white-light night modes with automatic switching, and a 30-metre night view. It suits an outdoor wall or gate on a site that already runs an analog DVR, where replacing cameras is affordable but rewiring the whole building is not. A microphone is built in, and the video output can be set to AHD, TVI, CVI or CVBS to match the recorder. One thing to plan for is the white light, which on a narrow residential lane is noticeable to neighbours as well as intruders.

Frequently asked questions

Can the white light be left off so only infrared is used?

The camera lists dual-light night vision with smart automatic switching, and an OSD menu for settings. Which night mode a site prefers is normally decided at commissioning. If a permanently discreet infrared-only view is a firm requirement, tell us on WhatsApp before ordering so we can confirm what the menu allows on this model.

Do I have to change my DVR as well?

Not if your DVR is an HD analog recorder that accepts one of the AHD, TVI or CVI standards at Full HD. If the existing recorder is an old CVBS-only unit, the camera will still connect but the recording stays standard definition. Share the DVR model with us and we will tell you which way it falls.

Would an IP camera be better for my shop?

It depends on what is already in the wall. This model reuses coax and adds a microphone and multi-standard output, while the network models in our range list detection functions such as line crossing, region intrusion and face capture but need data cabling and an NVR. If the coax is in good condition, staying analog is usually the more economical route.

How is it powered on an outside wall?

It runs on DC12V with a ten per cent tolerance, so a power supply is needed at or near the camera and the power run is separate from the video coax. On a multi-camera site a centralised power supply box is generally tidier than individual adaptors. We work out the arrangement at the survey.
