This one records at 2560 × 1440 rather than 1920 × 1080, which is the main reason to choose it. In exchange, its minimum colour illumination is 0.005 lux against 0.003 lux on the 2 MP version, so the lower-resolution model is marginally more light-sensitive. Both reach 500 metres on infrared.

Will it recognise faces at long range?

Face detection, capture and comparison are supported, but the working distance depends on how far the lens is zoomed, the mounting height and angle, and conditions such as haze and dust. Treat the 500 metre figure as illumination reach, not recognition range.

What supporting equipment does an installation like this need?

A rigid pole or mast, surge protection on the network run, a PoE switch that meets IEEE802.3af, and a recorder able to handle 4 MP streams with the AI features you intend to use. We specify all of it together so nothing becomes a bottleneck later.

Can it be added to an existing CCTV system?
