About the 2 Megapixel Dual-Light Network Dome Camera
Choosing the dome version of this 2 MP dual-light camera is usually a decision about how it looks on the wall, not about what it sees. The PLC 432P AU DL3 PM shares the sensor, the 30-metre dual-light night range, the on-camera line crossing and intrusion detection and the same 802.3af PoE feed as its bullet counterpart, but sits flush and low-profile above a counter or reception desk. IP67 sealing means it is not restricted to dry indoor spots, so a car porch or covered walkway is fine. Where a dome loses out is aiming, being fiddlier to re-point after installation.
Key benefits
- Low-profile dome sits neatly above a counter without dominating the room.
- Dual-light illumination reaches 30 metres, in infrared or full colour.
- 802.3af PoE means one cable to a ceiling or wall point.
- IP67 rating allows use in a car porch or humid kitchen area.
- On-camera line crossing and region intrusion detection generate events without extra software.
- Highlight and backlight compensation help against a bright glass shopfront behind the subject.
Where it works well
- Above the till in a retail shop or pharmacy
- Reception ceiling or wall of an office suite
- Covered car porch and entrance lobby of a house
- Restaurant seating area where a bullet camera looks intrusive
- Clinic waiting room needing discreet overhead coverage

Frequently asked questions
Dome or bullet for a shop interior?
Domes are the usual choice inside customer-facing spaces because they draw less attention and are harder to knock out of alignment by accident. Bullets are easier to aim precisely and their visible presence is itself a deterrent outdoors. Since both variants here share the same sensor and night range, the decision is genuinely about placement and appearance.
Will the white light disturb customers or staff indoors?
It can, which is why the white light element is more often used outdoors or in unoccupied areas after hours. Indoors, most installations rely on existing lighting during business hours and infrared once the premises are empty. How the camera switches between modes is set during configuration, and we tune it to the room.
Is IP67 wasted on an indoor camera?
Not always. Car porches, covered walkways, commercial kitchens and washing areas all put moisture and grease into the air, and a sealed housing lasts noticeably longer in those positions. It also means the same model can be used inside and under cover outside, which keeps the system consistent.
Does a dome protect against tampering?
IP67 is a water and dust rating, not an impact rating, so treat the dome as discreet rather than vandal-resistant. In a genuinely exposed position, mounting height does more for you than housing shape. If tamper resistance is a specific requirement, tell us and we will suggest a suitable position or a different model.
