Not every position needs a high-resolution camera, and this is the sort of unit we fit where the job is simple: a short covered approach, a side lane, a stairwell landing. It records 1920 × 1080 on a 1/3-inch sensor with 30 metres of infrared, and the IP67 bullet body handles an exposed wall mount. Power is flexible — DC12V or PoE — which helps when you are extending a system that already has 12V adaptors in place. Be realistic about detail: at 2 MP you can follow what happened, but you will not crop deep into a face at the far end of a long plot.

Frequently asked questions

Is 2 MP enough, or should I spend more on 4 MP?

It depends on distance more than anything else. At 1920 × 1080 the camera gives a clear account of a porch or a short passage, but a wide compound viewed from one corner will leave faces small. If the scene is much wider than the area you actually care about, step up to a 4 MP model.

Can I use my existing 12V power supply box?

Yes. This model accepts DC12V as well as PoE to IEEE802.3af, which is why it often gets chosen when an older analogue installation is being replaced and the power cabling is still serviceable. Send a photo of your existing box on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether it can carry the load.

Does it record in colour at night?

It is listed with both full-colour night vision and infrared. Where there is some ambient light — a street lamp or a porch bulb — it can hold colour, and in complete darkness it falls back to infrared, rated to 30 metres at 0 lux. Colour at night is never free; it comes from light that is already there.
