On a job with a dozen ceiling positions, per-camera cost for features nobody will use adds up fast. The PM-E dome delivers the same 3200×1800 image, 1/2.5-inch sensor and 30-metre dual-light range as its sibling, with the microSD slot left out of the specification. It is built for installations where the NVR is the single recording point and each camera is simply an endpoint on the PoE switch. IP67 sealing still permits covered outdoor positions wherever the ceiling or slab extends past the wall.

Frequently asked questions

Is the image any different from the PM version?

No. The published specification lists the same 3200×1800 resolution, the same 1/2.5-inch CMOS, the same 0.008 lux minimum illumination and the same 30-metre dual-light range. The stated difference is that this variant carries no microSD support. Everything you see on screen should look the same.

Should I ever mix PM and PM-E cameras on one site?

It is quite common. Positions that are hard to reach, or that cover the most sensitive area, are worth specifying with microSD so they keep recording independently, while ordinary interior positions run as PM-E. Both talk to the same recorder, so mixing them creates no configuration problem.

Does it record audio from the room?

Audio is not listed in this model's published specification, so treat it as video only. In Pakistan, recording conversations also carries privacy considerations that many businesses would rather avoid in a public area. If a specific position genuinely needs audio, tell us and we will recommend a suitable model instead.

What cable should be run for these?

Standard Cat6 back to a PoE switch or the NVR's PoE ports, one run per camera, since the camera takes power over the same cable at 802.3af. Full copper cable rather than copper-clad aluminium is worth insisting on, because PoE voltage drop over a cheap run is a frequent cause of cameras rebooting.
