About the 8 Megapixel Dual-Light Network Dome Camera
Pairing a 4K sensor with a dome body suits interiors where one camera has to watch an entire floor. It captures 3840×2160 from a 1/2.8-inch CMOS, illuminates to 30 metres in infrared or white light, and takes a microSD card up to 256GB. Against the 6MP dome you gain resolution, but the listed minimum illumination is 0.02 lux rather than 0.008 lux, and every extra pixel lands on the recorder's hard disk. For a single small room, the 6MP dome is often the more sensible purchase.
Key benefits
- 3840×2160 detail across a whole floor from a single ceiling position
- Cropping into stored 4K footage often removes the need for a second camera
- Dome housing keeps the lens protected and its aim hidden from view
- microSD up to 256GB gives a copy of footage held at the camera
- Thirty-metre dual light covers a large hall in colour or infrared
- Backlight compensation helps hold detail against a bright glass shopfront behind subjects
Where it works well
- Large retail floor or supermarket aisle in Lahore
- Banquet hall or marquee interior needing wide ceiling coverage
- Open office floor with one central mounting point
- Showroom ceiling covering both display area and entrance
- Godown interior where fewer camera positions are practical

Frequently asked questions
Where does a 4K dome actually earn its cost?
On wide interiors, where the alternative is two or three lower-resolution cameras plus their cabling and recorder channels. In a small room, a 4K camera mostly produces bigger files of the same information. Look at the floor plan before the resolution figure and the answer is usually clear.
Dome or bullet at 8MP?
The dome suits interiors and covered positions where the camera is reachable and you want it unobtrusive. The bullet in the same 8MP specification suits exposed walls and long outdoor runs where a sun shade and a directional profile help. The imaging specification is the same on both, so it really is a mounting decision.
Does the dust in Lahore affect a 4K camera more?
The effect is the same optically, but you notice it sooner because you are relying on fine detail. A film of dust on the dome cover scatters the infrared light and softens exactly the detail that justified 4K in the first place. Include cover cleaning in the maintenance routine, particularly before and after the dry season.
How is it powered and connected?
The published specification lists DC12V and PoE, so one network cable from a PoE switch or NVR can carry both power and video. On a long ceiling run, PoE with proper copper cable is far simpler than pulling a separate power spur. Confirm the switch's power budget when several 4K cameras share it.
