Stepping up to 2560 × 1440 on a 1/2.5-inch sensor changes what a PTZ is useful for: even at a moderate zoom setting there are enough pixels left to work with when the clip is reviewed. The 4.7–150 mm lens gives 32× optical zoom, and infrared runs to 150 metres, which fits a society gate, campus or medium industrial yard rather than open country. Face detection with capture and comparison, plus automatic tracking of people and vehicles, are part of the package. Its 4.7 mm wide end is narrower than the long-range 2 MP models, so plan the overview position accordingly.

Is 150 metres of infrared enough for my site?

Does the wide end limit what I can see?
