Do I need a 4K recorder for this camera?

The NVR has to support 8 MP streams, and older recorders often cap out lower. It streams over ONVIF, so most current recorders will take it. Send us your recorder model on WhatsApp and we will check compatibility before anything is ordered.

How much hard disk will 8 MP footage use?

That depends on the bitrate you set, how many cameras are recording, whether recording is continuous or motion-triggered, and how many days of history you want to keep. We work it out for your specific site rather than quoting a general figure, because the difference between setups is large.

Will it record in colour at night?

At 0.02 lux it needs a reasonable amount of ambient light, such as a street lamp or a security bulb, to hold colour. Without that it switches to infrared and gives a black and white image out to 30 metres.

Bullet or dome for a boundary wall?

A bullet is more visible, which many owners want on an outside wall, and its shade helps against direct sun. A dome is more discreet and less likely to be grabbed. For an outside wall at height, the bullet is usually the practical choice.
