About the 12-Port Gigabit PoE Network Switch with Gigabit Uplink & 2 SFP

Fibre is the addition here. Two SFP slots sit alongside two gigabit RJ45 uplinks, and with the right module the run can reach far beyond copper — the module chosen determines the distance, up to 120 km. On the camera side there are eight gigabit PoE ports rated at up to 30 W each within a 130 W total budget, with 24 Gbps switching capacity and a 17.86 Mpps forwarding rate behind them. It fits a desk, a wall, or a 19-inch rack at 1U. SFP modules are ordered separately, so tell us the fibre type already on site.

Are the SFP modules included?

No, the modules are ordered separately because the right one depends on your fibre. Single-mode and multi-mode are both supported, and the module determines the actual distance achieved, up to 120 km. Tell us what fibre is already installed and we will specify matching modules.

Why choose fibre over copper for the uplink?

Copper on this switch is rated to 100 m on Cat3 to Cat5e, which rules it out between separate buildings on a large site. Fibre also sidesteps electrical noise and surge paths between structures, which is a real consideration during monsoon. If everything sits inside one building, the gigabit RJ45 uplinks are simpler and cheaper to terminate.

Can all eight PoE ports run at full power?

Not simultaneously at the 30 W per-port maximum — the total budget is 130 W. Work from the sum of your cameras' actual consumption rather than the port ceiling. If you plan on several pan-tilt or heated cameras, the sixteen-port model with a larger budget is worth considering.

Does it fit a standard rack?

Yes, 19-inch 1U rack mounting is supported, as are desktop and wall installation. In a rack, allow for the fibre bend radius when routing patch leads to the SFP ports. LED indicators cover power, link activity, PoE, SFP and gigabit speed so status is readable from the front.
