How does this compare with the gigabit PoE version?

The uplinks and SFP slots are comparable; the difference is at the camera ports, which are 10/100 here and gigabit on the other model. That makes this the choice when cameras are modest and the fibre run is the real requirement. For a dense set of high-bitrate 8MP cameras, spend the difference on gigabit camera ports.

What distance can the fibre uplink cover?

Up to 120 km, but the SFP module fitted determines the actual figure, and modules are ordered separately. Single-mode and multi-mode fibre are both supported. Let us know the fibre type and the distance between your buildings and we will specify the module.

Will 10/100 ports limit my recordings?

They can, if several cameras are streaming at high bitrate at once. Resolution alone is not the whole story — bitrate settings and compression matter as much. We usually check the intended camera settings against the port speed before recommending this model over the gigabit one.

Where can it be installed?

Desktop, wall-mount and 19-inch 1U rack mounting are all supported, and the IP30 rating means indoors or inside an enclosure.
