About the 16 Megapixel 16 Channel 8K NVR with 4 HDD Slots
Why put four drive bays behind only sixteen channels? Because the sites that choose this configuration are not short of cameras, they are short of recording history. Camera input runs to 16MP under H.265S compression, face detection and comparison are included, and licence plate recognition is supported. All sixteen channels can be played back at the same time, which makes reviewing a full incident straightforward. Video output is listed as 4K, worth knowing if you had read the 8K in the model name as a monitor specification.
Key benefits
- Four bays behind sixteen channels means recording history, not channel count, is the point.
- Handles camera input up to 16MP, so high-resolution cameras are not held back.
- Face detection and comparison plus plate recognition run without a separate analytics server.
- Every one of the sixteen channels can be played back at once.
- POS data overlays on live view and playback, tying transactions to footage.
- Works with third-party IP cameras, so an existing mixed fleet can migrate.
Where it works well
- Jewellery shop in Anarkali needing long footage retention
- Bank branch with counter, ATM and vault cameras
- Pharmacy or supermarket linking till data to video
- Petrol pump recording vehicle plates at entry and exit
- Small factory running a few high-resolution cameras continuously

Frequently asked questions
Four bays for sixteen cameras seems excessive. Is it?
It depends entirely on what you record and for how long. Footage from 16MP cameras running continuously consumes disk far faster than 2MP cameras on motion, and once the array fills it begins overwriting. If your requirement is a long, unbroken history from a modest camera count, the extra bays are exactly the right spend.
Does the licence plate feature work on any camera?
The recorder supports LPR, but reading a plate reliably depends on the camera, lens, mounting angle, lighting and how fast vehicles move past. A general-purpose camera pointed at a gate usually will not do it. Tell us the entry layout and we will specify a camera suited to the job.
Is the video output 8K?
The 8K in the model name refers to the ultra-high-resolution camera class the recorder is built around, with input supported up to 16MP. The feature data lists the video output itself as 4K. Plan your control room monitor against the 4K figure.
Which hard disks should we use?
Surveillance-rated drives are the sensible choice, because a CCTV recorder writes continuously in a way desktop drives are not designed for. Matching drive capacity across the bays also makes the array easier to manage later. Message us the retention target on WhatsApp and we will size the drives with you.
