A 2 MP bullet remains the sensible default when a site needs eight or ten cameras rather than two, and the PLC 422P AU DL3 PM is built for exactly that arithmetic. Dual-light night vision lets it run infrared for a discreet monochrome image or switch to white light for full colour, out to 30 metres. Motion, line crossing and region intrusion detection are handled on the camera itself, and ONVIF keeps it workable with third-party NVRs. Single-cable installation over 802.3af PoE is the practical advantage; the 1/3-inch sensor is the honest limit in very dark scenes.

Frequently asked questions

What does dual-light actually mean?

The camera carries two illuminators: infrared, which is invisible and produces a monochrome image, and white light, which keeps the picture in full colour. Which one is in use depends on how the camera is configured and what the scene needs. Colour is far more useful for identifying clothing or a vehicle, but white light is also visible to anyone standing there.

Do I need a special recorder for it?

It uses standard 802.3af PoE and supports ONVIF, so it will record on most PoE NVRs including other brands. What sometimes does not carry across brands is the smart event handling, so line crossing or intrusion alarms may not surface neatly in a third-party recorder's interface. If you already own an NVR, tell us the model on WhatsApp before ordering.

Is 2 MP enough, or should I move up?

For a doorway, a driveway or a three to four metre gate, 1080p gives usable detail. Across a wide frontage, a long boundary or a forecourt, the pixels spread thin and faces become shapes. The practical rule is coverage width, not megapixels, and it is worth a two-minute conversation before you commit to a whole system.
