Frequently asked questions

What does 20 metres of infrared actually cover?

Twenty metres is roughly the length of a standard house frontage plus its gate approach, or around sixty-five feet. Within that band the infrared does the work; beyond it the picture depends on whatever street lighting exists. For a longer yard we would either move the camera closer to the action or look at a 30 or 50 metre model.

Why is there no microphone on this model?

It is simply not fitted on this variant. If audio matters at that position, the AU models such as the PLC 322P AU WR3 PM include a built-in microphone. You can mix both types on the same recorder without any problem.

Is IP66 enough for the monsoon in Lahore?

The IP66 rating covers dust and strong water jets against the camera body itself. In practice the weak point on any outdoor camera is the cable joint at the back, so we make that up properly and, where possible, place the camera under an eave or overhang.

What will a set of four cost, installed?
