About the Guardian Shield 4G - 3MP Solar Powered 4G Outdoor PT Camera
Where a single moving lens covers the site, this is the simpler 4G option: one 3MP pan-tilt camera on the same 336-degree horizontal and 90-degree vertical mechanism, with a larger 8600mAh battery and a quoted operating range up to 60°C. It still runs on 4G and solar, still carries PIR detection to 10 metres, AI human shape filtering and two-way audio. What you give up against the dual-lens Apex Pro is the fixed wide view, so while the head is turned left, anything happening on the right is not being recorded.
Key benefits
- 3MP pan-tilt coverage over 336 degrees horizontal and 90 degrees vertical from one unit
- Dual 21700 cells at 8600mAh with 5W solar charging suit unpowered locations
- Quoted operation to 60°C is relevant for exposed rooftop and open-yard mounting
- PIR detection to 10 metres with adjustable AI human shape sensitivity
- Waterproof microphone and 2W speaker allow you to speak to someone at the gate
- Local recording to a 128GB card reduces dependence on the mobile data link
Where it works well
- Empty plot or under-construction house with no power connection
- Tube well or agricultural land outside Lahore
- Rooftop of a suburban house with weak fixed internet
- Livestock shed or godown away from the main building
- Site where running a wired camera cable is impractical

Frequently asked questions
Does it need home internet or Wi-Fi?
No. It carries its own 4G LTE module and connects over the mobile network using a data SIM, which is exactly why it suits plots, fields and buildings with no broadband line. If the location does have reliable Wi-Fi, one of the Guardian Wi-Fi models is usually cheaper to run because it consumes no mobile data. We can compare both for your site on WhatsApp.
Is 60 days of standby realistic?
Standby is the manufacturer's figure for the camera waiting rather than recording. Real runtime depends on how many PIR events occur, how long each clip runs and how often you open the app. On a busy street-facing position it will be much shorter, which is why the 5W solar panel matters more than the battery figure.
How does this compare with the 4G Pro model?
The Pro carries two camera modules, one fixed ultra-wide plus one on the pan-tilt head, at 2MP each. This is a single 3MP camera on the pan-tilt mechanism, with a larger 8600mAh battery and a wider quoted temperature range. Pick the Pro if losing the wide view while tracking would be a problem, and this one if a single steerable lens covers the ground.
Can I get alerts on my phone?
Yes. PIR triggers and low-battery warnings are among the listed alarm functions, and remote live view, playback, intercom and PTZ control all run through the mobile app. Setting the detection sensitivity carefully is what keeps those alerts meaningful rather than constant.
