The PLC 434M AI IR3 PM is a 4 MP vandal-resistant dome recording 2592 × 1520 from a 1/3-inch CMOS sensor, with infrared to 30 metres and an IK10 rating on the housing. The IK10 part is why buyers pick it: it is meant for positions within arm's reach, such as stairwells, shop entrances and corridors where a camera occasionally gets knocked or pushed aside. Face detection and capture, line crossing and region intrusion run on the camera, and it accepts DC12V or PoE. Its 30-metre infrared keeps it best suited to rooms, entrances and short yards rather than long boundary runs.

How does it differ from the 2 MP vandal dome?

This one records 2592 × 1520 on a 1/3-inch sensor; the 2 MP version records 1920 × 1080 on a physically larger 1/2.8-inch sensor. Both carry IK10 housings, 30-metre infrared and the same detection functions. More pixels give you more room to enlarge a recorded face, at the cost of more storage per channel.

Does it record sound?
