The PLC 425M AI MZ IR5 PM is a 5 MP motorised bullet built around a 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor, recording 2592 × 1944 with infrared out to 50 metres. That pixel shape is taller than a standard widescreen frame, so more of the picture is spent on the ground near a gate or the height of a narrow lane rather than spreading sideways. The lens is set remotely once the camera is fixed, and face detection and capture, line crossing and region intrusion run on board. Its quoted 0.02 lux for colour viewing is the least sensitive figure in this AI range, so low light leans on the infrared.

Both are motorised bullets with face detection, line crossing and intrusion detection. The 5 MP is lighter on recorder storage, so the choice usually comes down to how far you need to see. Does the motorised lens need a particular recorder?

The lens is adjusted over the network from the recorder or configuration software. The camera supports ONVIF for third-party recorders, but how much lens control a specific third-party NVR exposes varies by brand. If you are pairing it with a recorder you already own, send us the model and we will check it first.

What does the 0.02 lux figure actually mean?

It is the minimum illumination quoted for daytime colour viewing, so a lower number means colour is held in dimmer conditions. Below that level the camera relies on infrared, which is rated to 50 metres at 0 lux. On a site with good gate or street lighting the difference is rarely noticed.

Can I install it on the coax cable I already have?

No. This is a network camera, so it needs a data connection to an NVR or PoE switch rather than the coax used by analog systems.
