About the 5 Megapixel Dual-Light FHD Dome Camera

Fitted under a soffit or on a porch ceiling, this dome keeps a lower profile than a bullet while carrying the same dual-light head: infrared for a discreet monochrome view, white light when colour matters, rated to 30 metres either way. Resolution is 2560 × 1936 from a 1/2.5-inch sensor and a microphone is fitted inside the housing. The IP67 rating lets it take an exposed position as well as an indoor one. Domes do need care at fitting, since a smudged or badly seated cover sends the camera's own light back into the lens.

A dome is tidier on a ceiling and does not advertise which way it is looking, which suits a sales floor. A bullet is easier to aim precisely and is more obvious, which some owners want as a visible presence. Many Lahore shops end up with domes inside and bullets on the outside wall.

Why would a dome picture look hazy at night?

Usually the cover, not the camera. Dust, fingerprints or a cover that has not seated properly will reflect the camera's own infrared or white light straight back into the lens. Cleaning the dome and reseating it clears most of these complaints.
