This is the flexible one in the range, and the model we suggest when the final framing is genuinely uncertain. The 2.8–12 mm motorised lens gives a 4× optical range, infrared reaches 50 metres, and recording is 2592 × 1944 on a 1/2.7-inch sensor. That frame is 4:3 rather than widescreen, which means more height in the picture — useful down a driveway or a narrow side lane, less so if you want a wide panoramic view of a compound. Note that zooming in narrows the field of view: you gain detail at the far end and lose the edges.

Why is it 2592 × 1944 and not 2880 × 1620?

That is a 4:3 frame rather than a widescreen one. On a normal monitor you will see bars at the sides, but you gain height in the picture. It suits a driveway or a narrow lane, where the action runs near-to-far rather than side-to-side.

Can I adjust the zoom after installation?

Yes. The 2.8–12 mm lens is motorised and set through the camera's interface, so nobody has to go back up to the bracket. We set it during installation and can show you how to change it if your layout shifts later.

This or the 4 MP motorised bullet?

Both share the 2.8–12 mm 4× lens and 50 metres of infrared. This one records more pixels in a 4:3 frame on a 1/2.7-inch sensor at 0.008 lux; the 4 MP uses a 1/3-inch sensor rated to 0.005 lux in a widescreen frame. Choose on frame shape and low-light figures rather than megapixel count alone.
