About the 8 Megapixel AI Network Bullet Motorized Camera
The PLC 428M AI MZ IR8 PM is an 8 MP bullet with a motorised lens, recording 3840 × 2160 from a 1/2.7-inch CMOS sensor and carrying infrared to 80 metres. The motorised lens lets the field of view be set after the camera is fixed, which helps on a high pole or a long boundary where climbing back up is awkward. Face detection and capture, line crossing and region intrusion run on the camera, and it accepts DC12V or 802.3af PoE. The trade-off is storage: 4K streams take considerably more disk and bandwidth than Full HD, so the recorder has to be sized for it.
Key benefits
- 3840 × 2160 resolution allows tight cropping into recorded frames during review
- Motorised lens adjusts the framing from the recorder without climbing back up
- Infrared reaches 80 metres, covering long boundary walls and open plot frontages
- Face detection and capture separate people from general movement in the alert log
- Accepts DC12V or 802.3af PoE, so it fits existing or new wiring
- IP67 housing is rated for dust and rain on fully exposed mounts
Where it works well
- Long factory boundary walls in Kot Lakhpat and Sundar
- Plaza and shop frontages along Ferozepur Road and Multan Road
- Farmhouse approach roads and open land on Bedian Road
- Container yards and godown compounds needing distant coverage
- Society entrances covering a wide gate and approach lane

Frequently asked questions
How much recorder storage will an 8 MP channel use?
A 3840 × 2160 stream consumes noticeably more disk per hour than a 4 MP or Full HD channel, and the exact figure depends on bitrate, frame rate and how much movement the scene contains. This is the main reason to mix resolutions on a site, keeping 4K for the critical view. Tell us your channel count and how many days of footage you want to keep, and we will size the NVR and hard disk on WhatsApp.
Does motorised mean the camera can pan and follow someone?
No. Motorised here refers to the lens, which is zoomed and focused remotely so the field of view can be adjusted after installation. The camera body itself does not rotate or track a subject. If you need a camera that follows movement, that is a PTZ, and we can discuss the options on WhatsApp.
Will the picture be in colour at 80 metres at night?
The 80-metre figure is quoted for infrared at 0 lux, which produces a monochrome image. The camera also lists full-colour night vision, which depends on there being usable light in the scene. On an unlit boundary at that distance, expect black and white.
Can it read number plates on the road outside?
Plate legibility depends on lens setting, angle, vehicle speed and headlight glare, not resolution alone. The 8 MP sensor with a motorised lens does give you room to frame a single lane tightly, which is what actually helps. A camera set wide to cover a whole yard will not resolve plates at 80 metres, so describe the exact spot on WhatsApp and we will advise before you order.
Should I run it on DC12V or PoE?
Both are listed for this model. PoE keeps it to a single cable and is usually cleaner on a new installation, but needs an 802.3af switch or injector with enough total budget for all cameras. DC12V is useful where a local power point already exists or a PoE switch is not being used.
