About the 8 Megapixel Dual-Light Network Bullet Camera

This is the 4K end of the dual-light bullet family: 3840×2160 across a 1/2.8-inch CMOS, which means a wide scene can be recorded once and cropped afterwards instead of installing two cameras. Night coverage runs 30 metres at 0 lux in infrared or full colour, and the microSD slot accepts up to 256GB. Two things to weigh before committing: minimum illumination here is 0.02 lux against 0.008 lux on the 6MP models, and 4K streams consume noticeably more recorder storage and network bandwidth.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a special NVR for 4K?

You need a recorder that accepts 8MP input and has the decoding capacity and disk space for it. An older 4MP-class NVR may take the stream but display it at reduced resolution or refuse it outright. Confirm your recorder model with us before ordering so the camera and NVR actually match.

Will 4K fill my hard disk much faster?

Yes. More pixels per frame means a larger stream, so at the same retention target an 8MP camera consumes considerably more disk than a 4MP one. Recording on detection events rather than continuously, and sizing the disk against the whole camera list, is how this is normally controlled. Is 8MP automatically better than 6MP at night?

Not automatically. This model is listed at 0.02 lux minimum illumination while the 6MP models are listed at 0.008 lux, so the 6MP is specified to keep working in dimmer conditions before the LEDs take over. Both share the same 30-metre dual-light range. If the scene is genuinely dark and no lighting can be added, the 6MP deserves a look.

Can it be mounted on a pole at a gate?

Yes, with a suitable pole bracket, and the IP67 rating covers the exposure. Vibration is the thing to control on a slim pole, since a shaking 4K image loses much of the detail you paid for. A rigid mount and a shorter bracket arm make a visible difference to footage quality.
