CCTV Camera Installation in Garden Town, Lahore
Houses, hostels, academies, clinics and Barkat Market shops, covered properly and cabled tidily. Contact for Price on every model.
Cameras for a Neighbourhood That Has Changed Its Use
Garden Town is one of the older planned pockets of central Lahore, sitting between Kalma Chowk, Model Town Link Road and the canal, with Barkat Market as its retail anchor. Its blocks carry names rather than numbers, so a job usually reaches us as a block name and a house number.
Very little of our work here is plain home installation. With Punjab University’s New Campus across the canal, a large share of the older 10 marla and 1 kanal houses now run as hostels, academies, tuition centres, clinics and small offices, and a single building often holds three unrelated tenants. Coverage has to be designed for the way the property is used today, not the way it was originally drawn.
Send your block name, the property type and a rough camera count on WhatsApp. Everything is Contact for Price, and we will put a written scope together after the survey.
Who We Install For in Garden Town
Family houses
Older 10 marla and kanal homes with deep lawns, where the gate, side walls and roof access matter more than indoor coverage.
Hostels and shared houses
Entrance, stairs, landings, parking and back exit, with clear no camera zones and signage at the door.
Academies and tuition centres
Gate, reception, fee counter and corridors, which is where nearly every real incident happens.
Clinics and diagnostic labs
Reception, waiting area, corridor and sample collection, with examination rooms left alone.
Barkat Market shops
Till first, then the entrance at face height, the display run and the storeroom.
Converted offices
Reception, corridor, server room and back exit, designed around the partition layout you will have after fit out.
Hostels, Shared Houses and Where a Camera Belongs
In a hostel or a shared building the defensible camera positions are the entrance, the stairs, each floor landing, the parking and the back exit. Rooms, bathrooms, washing areas and anywhere a resident would reasonably expect privacy are off limits, and no serious installer should agree to them.
Signage at the entrance and a clear rule on who may view footage prevent more arguments than an extra camera ever will. Where one building holds several tenants, we usually suggest a small separate recorder for each tenant, with only the entrance and common stairs on the landlord’s system, so nobody has to trust anyone else with the view of their own floor.
For academies and clinics the same logic applies in a different form. Corridors, reception and the fee or pharmacy counter are legitimate. Classrooms are a management decision that should be discussed with staff first, and examination and treatment rooms are never covered. We leave microphones off by default rather than recording conversations.
Typical Starting Scope for Garden Town Properties
Starting points we work from before survey. The count nearly always shifts once we see how many separate entrances a converted building has picked up over the years.
| Property | Cameras (typical start) | Recorder | Coverage priorities |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 marla house | 6 to 8 | 8ch | Gate, porch, side wall, back gate, roof stairs |
| 1 kanal house | 8 to 12 | 16ch | Both side walls, lawn, servant quarter, driveway |
| Hostel in a converted house | 10 to 16 | 16ch | Entrance, stairs, every landing, parking, back exit |
| Clinic or diagnostic lab | 8 to 16 | 16ch | Reception, waiting, corridor, sample counter, pharmacy |
| Academy or tuition centre | 8 to 16 | 16ch | Gate, reception, fee counter, corridors, van drop off |
| Barkat Market shop | 3 to 6 | 4ch or 8ch | Till, entrance, display run, storeroom |
Local Realities We Plan Around Here
- Mature trees in old gardens — Garden Town lives up to its name. A branch a metre in front of an infrared camera ruins the night image, so we either reposition or specify a full colour dual light camera that uses the street lighting.
- Retrofitting a plastered house — Almost nothing here is a new build, so cable runs go in casing or along a roof level route. We agree the visible route with you before a single clip goes on the wall.
- Several tenants, one electricity meter — Decide early whose supply feeds the recorder and whose backup keeps it alive, otherwise the system dies the first time a tenant switches off at the mains.
- Frontage cameras near the market — A shop camera on a busy block road will see the footpath and the shop opposite. We keep the aim tight to your own frontage and mask the rest.
- Smog and dust season — Dome bubbles on roadside cameras haze over. Plan an annual clean, or the picture you rely on quietly degrades over two seasons.
- Keeping the router alive — Recording continues through load shedding but the app does not, unless the ONU and router share the recorder's backup.

Frequently asked questions
Do you install CCTV for hostels and guest houses in Garden Town?
Yes. We cover entrances, stairs, landings, parking and back exits, along with signage at the door. We do not fit cameras inside rooms, bathrooms or washing areas, and we will decline that scope if it is asked for.
Three tenants share my building. Can each one see only their own floor?
Yes. Either a small separate recorder per tenant, or one system with restricted user accounts so each tenant sees only their own channels. The landlord normally keeps the entrance and common stairs.
How many cameras does a 1 kanal Garden Town house need?
Eight to twelve on a 16 channel recorder is the usual starting point, covering the gate and driveway, both side walls, the back gate or servant quarter, the lawn and roof access. The survey fixes the final number.
The house is already plastered. Will the cabling look untidy?
It does not have to. We use casing and trunking along agreed routes, prefer a roof level run to a route across the front elevation, and show you the path before starting rather than after.
My camera goes white at night because of the trees. Can that be fixed?
Usually yes. That is infrared bouncing off nearby foliage. Repositioning the camera solves most cases, and where the lane has some light a full colour dual light camera gives a far more useful picture.
Can you handle office network cabling at the same time?
Yes. Cat6 runs, racks, patch panels and labelling are done by the same team, which is more sensible than pulling a separate cable set through the same building twice.
Do you only install, or do you supply the equipment too?
Both. We supply as an authorised Pollo Security reseller and we also install hardware clients have bought elsewhere. All equipment is Contact for Price, quoted after the scope is agreed.
