The PLC 424M AI IR3 PM is a 4 MP network bullet recording 2592 × 1520 from a 1/3-inch CMOS sensor, with infrared night view to 30 metres. It is the straightforward outdoor choice for a house boundary, a shop front or a small yard, where a visible camera body is part of the point. Face detection and capture, line crossing and region intrusion detection are handled on the camera, and power can come from DC12V or PoE. Unlike the vandal dome in the same series, no impact rating is listed for this housing, so it should be mounted above easy reach.

How many cameras does a normal house need?

That depends on the plot layout rather than the camera itself. Most homes start with the main gate, the rear boundary and the car porch, then add the entrance door and the roof stairs. Is 4 MP worth it over the 2 MP bullet for a home?

At 2592 × 1520 there are more pixels covering the same scene than the 1920 × 1080 model, so you can enlarge a recorded frame further before it breaks up. The cost is storage, since each channel writes more data to the disk. If your recorder and disk are fixed, fitting more 2 MP channels may serve the house better than fewer 4 MP ones.

Do I need internet at the house for it to work?

Recording happens locally on the NVR, so footage continues to be stored whether or not the internet connection is up. Internet is only needed if you want to view the cameras from your phone while away. We set the mobile app up at handover.

Can I mix these bullets and the domes on one recorder?

Yes. They are network cameras from the same series with ONVIF support and the same PoE option, so mixing bullets outside with domes inside on one NVR is a common layout. The recorder just needs enough channels and PoE budget for the total count.
