About the 6 Megapixel Fisheye Network Camera

A fisheye earns its place where one central mounting point can see everything below it. This model uses a 1/2.5" CMOS at 3200 × 1800, with full-colour night vision, a 30 m infrared rating and 0.01 lux minimum illumination for daytime colour. Motion detection, line crossing and region intrusion are supported, and the IP67 body means it is not restricted to indoor ceilings. Detail is naturally strongest near the centre of the frame and softer towards the edge, which is the nature of the lens rather than a fault, so the mounting point should be planned around what matters most. Can one fisheye replace four corner cameras?

For overview, often yes — a single overhead unit sees the whole floor and no one walks out of frame. For close identification at the edges of the room it is weaker than a dedicated camera aimed at a door or a till. A common arrangement is one fisheye for the room plus one fixed camera on the entrance.

How will the round image appear on my recorder?

That depends on the recording platform more than on the camera. The unit is ONVIF compliant so it records on most third-party NVR and VMS systems, but how the circular image is displayed and handled varies between them. Send us the make and model of your recorder on WhatsApp and we will confirm the behaviour before you order.

Can it be installed outdoors?

The housing carries an IP67 rating, so weather is not the issue. The practical limits are the 30 m infrared rating and the overhead geometry, which suit covered positions such as a porch, a canopy or a covered walkway more than a bare open plot. For open outdoor areas a panoramic or PTZ camera is usually the better answer.
