About the 8-SATA Management and Storage Server
An ARM-based design rather than an x86 one, the PLC MSA708M1 A0 uses an 8-core 64-bit AI processor with 8GB LPDDR4 and 64GB eMMC to combine management, storage and analytics in a single unit. It handles cameras up to 16MP across as many as 1000 IP channels, takes 768 Mbps of incoming bandwidth, and runs face recognition against a 50,000-entry database alongside plate recognition for 10,000 vehicles. Eight SATA bays hold up to 80TB. That storage ceiling is the honest limit: the channel and analytics capacity outruns the disks, so long retention usually means adding a storage server.

Does the face recognition work out of the box?
The platform supports a face database of up to 50,000 entries, but results depend heavily on camera placement, lighting and lens choice at each capture point. A camera angled across a doorway at head height performs very differently from one mounted high in a corner. We plan capture points as part of the installation rather than treating recognition as automatic.
Is 80TB enough storage for 1000 channels?
Not for long retention, and this is the main planning point. Eight SATA bays at 80TB total will not hold months of footage from a large estate at 16MP. Most projects at this scale pair the unit with a dedicated storage server, and we can size that combination with you on WhatsApp.
How does an ARM processor compare with the Intel-based servers?
This unit puts AI analytics and decoding on a purpose-built 8-core ARM platform, which is efficient for that workload. The Intel-based management and storage servers focus on much larger drive counts and channel figures without on-board face and plate recognition. Pick according to whether analytics or storage depth is your priority.
Can I connect cameras from other manufacturers?
It supports up to 256 devices including third-party ONVIF cameras. Basic live view and recording generally work, though analytics features are usually fuller with cameras designed for the platform. Share your camera models with us and we will confirm what will and will not carry over.
