About the All-in-One Management Server
Purpose-built for the management layer rather than for storing video, the PLC MSA510 MTC E runs an Intel Core E-2200 on Linux with 8GB DDR4 ECC memory and a 128GB SSD for the operating system and applications. It decodes up to 2048 channels, supports 500 devices expandable to 20,000 with authorisation, and moves 640 Mbps in each direction across dual gigabit network cards providing four LAN ports. VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs feed control room screens. There is no bulk recording capacity inside, so it works alongside storage servers or SAN storage rather than replacing them.

Where does the video actually get stored?
Not on this unit. The 128GB SSD carries the operating system and applications, and recording goes to storage servers or to SAN or streaming media storage on your network. That separation is the point of the design, since storage can then grow without touching the management server.
How many cameras can it realistically handle?
It supports 500 devices as standard, expandable to 20,000 with authorisation, with decoding capability quoted up to 2048 channels and 640 Mbps of bandwidth in each direction. Can it control PTZ cameras directly?
Yes, PTZ control with presets and locking is part of the platform. Locking prevents two operators from fighting over the same camera, which becomes relevant once several people are working from the same system.
